Introduction and setup
Winery is a strategy board game. Players grow and trade 12 Georgian grape varieties, each with its own number of cards and scoring values.
Each player has two vineyards. Collect cards of the same variety in each vineyard, then harvest them for points or clear them to plant a different variety.
The game ends when the shared deck runs out. The player with the most points wins.
Deal 5 cards to each player.
The most important rule
Do not rearrange the cards in your hand!Start your turn with the rightmost card. Add new cards on the left.
Set the table
The diagram shows the table layout and where the cards go.

- Discard pile

- Player’s vineyard 2
- Player’s points
Each player holds their own hand of cards. Stack cards of the same variety in each vineyard, and keep your points separately.
Playing a turn
Phase 1 — planting
You must plant your rightmost card. You may also plant another card of your choice. If it is the same variety as an existing vineyard, add it to that vineyard.
If both vineyards are occupied, harvest or clear one before planting a new variety. You cannot clear a vineyard with only 1 card unless both vineyards have just 1 card; in that case, you may clear either one.
For 5 points you may buy the right to plant a third vineyard.
Phase 2 — trading
Turn over 2 cards from the shared deck. You cannot add them to your hand: plant, trade or give them away.
The recipient must plant a traded card immediately, without adding it to their hand. You may also trade or give away cards from your hand. Any cards you receive must be planted straight away.
Phase 3 — harvesting and drawing
You may harvest your vineyards. Keep the appropriate number of cards to record the points you earn, and discard the rest. Then draw until you have 5 cards in your hand.
Always add new cards on the left of your hand to preservethe “rightmost card” rule.
